Take Care On The Roads This Winter

On the roads during winter, we need to be adaptable to changing conditions - it is darker earlier, around the festive season there are huge amounts of traffic travelling to visit family all over the country and there is a danger posed by the weather with ice and snow on the road surfaces.

Take Care Driving In Winter Weather

Throughout the winter season you should always adapt your driving technique in line with weather warning and forecasts, whether this be for rain, snow, fog or ice. During winter the roads can be dangerous - ice is not always obvious and it is still often on the road during early morning commutes to work. This winter when you are driving, please be aware of the extra hazards that the weather presents to you and take extra when you are on the roads.

Severe weather can be particularly dangerous for you if you live on smaller roads. Although many roads are regularly gritted and cleared, it is not possible to grit every road in the UK. Therefore, if you live in a remote location you should be even more aware of the hazards the winter roads can pose you. If you do have to travel in severe whether try to stick to main roads that will be in the safest condition and choose routes that do not leave you and your vehicle exposed to the elements.

Prepare your car for winter - if you break down in cold weather you will need warm clothes and a blanket in the boot. You should also have things such as an ice scraper, a torch, a first aid kit and anything else that you could need should you get stuck due to the weather or due to a break down.

Take Care Driving Over The Festive Season

There are a lot of people on the roads around Christmas and New Year. Boxing Day traffic is notoriously bad and the days coming up to Christmas also see a huge traffic surge. All in all, with more people on the roads there is more chance of someone making a mistake. If you are involved in a collision over festive period that is not your fault you may be able to make a claim for personal injury compensation.

Furthermore, the festive season leads more people to take risks with alcohol and driving. There is never an excuse for drink driving, and not only do you put yourself in danger, you put your fellow road users in danger too. If you have been drinking the Christmas, never get behind the wheel.

Since contacting Stan I was continously informed of the development and progress of each step of my claim. Stan was persistent and patient throughout the whole process and reassured me he would win me the compensation I deserved - and he was true to his word. I am extremely happy with the outcome of my claim and this is all thanks to Stan.

My case was dealt with personally by Stan Moffat and what a brilliant guy. His office contacted me personally by telephone at the start of my claim to explain who they were and what they would be doing for me. All through the case I was kept fully informed of all actions either by e-mail or by letter and reassured by Stan several times of any queries I had.

It is very seldom that a solicitor will take the time to speak personally at any time with you without getting run through secretaries etc. I commend this man for that as this was a very upsetting and important time for me and he did everything in his power to make this as easy and as swift as possible for me.

I highly recommend the service that this firm brings and the speed that they move at.
