Tram Track Accidents Edinburgh

The tram tracks in Edinburgh can be a dangerous place for cyclists to ride. Tram track accidents involving bikes can result in quite severe injuries, as cyclists' wheels get caught in the track and throw them from their bikes. Being thrown from the bike itself can result in injuries but also when a cyclist is thrown from their bike a risk is then posed to them by the traffic in the surrounding area as well. There are concerns that if a car failed to notice a fallen cyclist, or if a cyclist fell into the path of a vehicle; this could result in a fatality.

Recently there have been a number of cycling accidents on the tram tracks that have alerted the council to the problem. The council is currently addressing the issue as they try to warn cyclists of the dangers that the tracks can pose to them. The council is aiming to place warning signs around the areas of the track that telling cyclists to ride across the tracks at a 90-degree angle to avoid their wheels becoming caught in the tracks. They also want to encourage cyclists to stick to the designated cycle routes when crossing the tramlines.

Designated cycle routes already exist to reduce cycling accidents but these can become difficult to use properly due to traffic congestion in the areas where bikes cross the tracks. The congestion also makes it difficult for cyclists to cross the tracks at the 90-degree angle that is advised, leading them to cross the tracks at angles that put them in danger of their wheels becoming stuck. For this reason the council is also looking into the traffic in the area and considering what they can do to reduce risks to cyclists which are posed because of traffic congestion in the area. Traffic congestion is mostly resulting from the tramline crossing being so close to a large and busy taxi rank.

Cycling accidents involving tram tracks can be, in legal terms, a complicated accident to have been involved in. If you have been injured due to someone's negligence you will be able to make a claim for personal injury compensation. Determining negligence is not always easy so you should contact a specialist personal injury lawyer as soon as possible if you or a loved one has been involved in a cycling accident on Edinburgh's tram tracks there is a possibility you may be able to make a claim for personal injury compensation.

Since contacting Stan I was continously informed of the development and progress of each step of my claim. Stan was persistent and patient throughout the whole process and reassured me he would win me the compensation I deserved - and he was true to his word. I am extremely happy with the outcome of my claim and this is all thanks to Stan.

My case was dealt with personally by Stan Moffat and what a brilliant guy. His office contacted me personally by telephone at the start of my claim to explain who they were and what they would be doing for me. All through the case I was kept fully informed of all actions either by e-mail or by letter and reassured by Stan several times of any queries I had.

It is very seldom that a solicitor will take the time to speak personally at any time with you without getting run through secretaries etc. I commend this man for that as this was a very upsetting and important time for me and he did everything in his power to make this as easy and as swift as possible for me.

I highly recommend the service that this firm brings and the speed that they move at.
